Taryna Michelle dreamt of being a photographer in Perth, WA.

Growing up in the small coastal town of Bateau Bay on the New South Wales Central Coast, most of her time was spent at the beach or playing squash. Never one to sit still for any length of time, she moved to Adelaide straight after finishing year 12  and then travelled throughout Europe and lived in various parts of the UK for 5 years before returning to Melbourne, Australia for a few years. Another move to Perth, WA, then back to Melbourne and then finally back to Perth which she now calls home.

Four years ago at age 33, Taryna Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today, she is a survivor! Living with her partner Rob and 4 daughters, she’s living her dream and is so passionate about life.  Photographs capture moments and long after that moment has passed, and sometimes the memory has faded, we can look upon that photograph and unlock the memory that lies within it.

I have always had a passion for the arts, especially literature and photography. As a child and then adolescent, I used to immerse myself in books, allowing myself to be drawn into the world of those that lived within those pages. I would spend hours taking in every moment as it happened.

Without a doubt, my favourite photos are those that are candid, those photos that capture a true moment. Whether it is a moment of joy, stillness, passion or pandemonium, I love observing and capturing the moment.

I believe that one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself in life is that of pursuing your passion. After years of denying myself, I have finally given myself this gift. This gift I share with you.
